Industrially, after curcumin is isolated from the oleoresin, the mother liquor is known as “curcumin-removed turmeric oleoresin” (CRTO). It is widely used as a feed additive to improve animal productivity.CURCUVIN is a CRTO-based, underutilized by-product of the curcuminoids extraction process. It contains bioactive volatiles and non-volatile constituents such as fixed oil and other minor components (curcuminoids and resinous matter). Because of the combination of bioactive sesquiterpenoids with curcuminoids, CURCUVIN has unique therapeutic immunomodulatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties that can be utilized successfully in the poultry industry.
